Staff Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, production-ready agentic systems and AI infrastructure to support autonomous operations.
• Break down ambiguous, function-wide problems into shippable technical architectures.
• Own the full lifecycle of AI features, from initial design and deployment to monitoring and adoption.
• Elevate engineering standards through rigorous code reviews, design document oversight, and knowledge documentation.
• Bridge technical gaps between engineering, compliance, and operations to ensure systems are both fast and safe.
• Make strategic decisions regarding technical debt versus shipping speed in a high-stakes financial environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production AI systems that handle real traffic at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with SQL and prompt engineering.
• Proven ability to lead through uncertainty and solve complex coordination problems.
• Experience working with modern AI/ML stacks including OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, LangGraph, or custom ML pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with vector databases, graph databases, and orchestration tools like Redis.
• Experience working within regulated industries such as fintech or compliance-heavy environments.
