Staff Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify high-leverage agentic workflows for compliance, customer routing, and other business processes.
• Design complex data flows and human-in-the-loop interfaces to ensure safe task handoffs.
• Build robust evaluation frameworks and monitor model lifecycles to track operational KPIs.
• Architect scalable, intelligent, and auditable AI systems that function reliably in a regulated environment.
• Lead technical direction by resolving competing constraints between engineering, compliance, and operations.
• Raise engineering standards through code reviews, design documentation, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and deploying production AI systems at scale.
• Expertise in agent orchestration, context engineering, and systematic evals/guardrails.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design around LLM limitations and implement fail-safe architectures.
• Must have the legal right to work in Germany (no sponsorship available).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and tool-calling frameworks.
• Familiarity with LangGraph, LangFuse, or similar agentic orchestration tools.
• Experience working within highly regulated industries like fintech or trading.
• Proficiency with AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and vector databases.
