Staff Application Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and direction for application security platforms to ensure effective adoption across Product and Engineering teams.
• Guide and review the analysis of security findings, working with Security Champions to prioritize risk and recommend remediation strategies.
• Integrate AI-enabled development practices into the software development lifecycle to automate and scale secure coding and remediation.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering teams, translating complex security risks into actionable, business-relevant decisions.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure application security expectations are aligned with enterprise security policies and standards.
• Deliver KPI-based reporting on risk posture, adoption metrics, and security trends to technical and executive leadership.
• Educate and coach development teams on secure coding expectations and the use of security platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in application security or cybersecurity.
• Proven experience with application testing methodologies including SAST, DAST, MAST, RAST, or IAST.
• Expertise in vulnerability management processes and threat modeling.
• Strong software development background and a developer mindset.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting and experience with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance engineering productivity and security outcomes.
