Staff Application Engineer - Physical Implementation

Responsibilities

• Solve complex PPA (Performance, Power, Area) challenges using latest implementation technologies, including AI/ML Implementation and Physical Synthesis RTL-GDS
• Address complex Formal verification challenges and early power estimation
• Benchmark Synopsys solutions against competitors to demonstrate superior results
• Develop, debug, and optimize Synthesis implementation methodologies and flows for emerging semiconductor technologies
• Provide technical solutions by identifying design and EDA tool issues and delivering actionable resolutions for customers
• Translate technical findings into requirements for R&D to drive tool enhancements
• Deploy new technology features and enable customer migration for best-in-class PPA
• Proactively identify customer pain points and propose innovative solutions
• Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to shape future technology directions
• Act as a customer advocate and brand ambassador

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Synthesis
• Proven ability to debug and resolve synthesis challenges, including low power understanding
• Strong exposure to methodology changes for achieving targeted PPA metrics
• Proficiency in synthesis and formal verification tools and flows
• Advanced scripting skills in TCL, Unix, or Perl
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and internal teams
