Staff Application Engineer – Physical Implementation

Responsibilities

• Solve complex PPA (Performance, Power, Area) challenges using advanced implementation technologies, including AI/ML Implementation and Physical Synthesis RTL-GDS.
• Develop, debug, and optimize RTL-GDS implementation methodologies and flows for emerging semiconductor technologies.
• Benchmark Synopsys solutions against competitors to demonstrate superior results and displace alternative implementation flows.
• Provide technical solutions by identifying design and EDA tool issues and delivering actionable resolutions for customers.
• Translate technical findings into requirements for R&D to drive tool enhancements and long-term solutions.
• Collaborate closely with R&D and product development teams to shape future technology directions.
• Act as a customer advocate and brand ambassador during technical engagements.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience in Physical Implementation (RTL-GDS).
• Proven ability to debug and resolve complex synthesis and PnR (Place and Route) challenges.
• Strong exposure to methodology changes aimed at achieving targeted PPA metrics for complex designs.
• Proficiency in advanced scripting languages such as TCL, Unix, or Perl for automation and debugging.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with both customers and internal engineering teams.

• Deep proficiency with Synopsys implementation tools and flows.
• Experience with AI/ML-driven implementation technologies.
