Staff Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of core analytical data models across key business domains
• Define and champion analytics engineering standards including modeling patterns and testing strategies
• Build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines handling multi-terabyte data volumes
• Own and evolve the BI and semantic layer using Looker and LookML
• Partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers to streamline analytical workflows
• Drive initiatives focused on data quality, reliability, and governance
• Influence company-wide data strategy to support product experimentation and marketplace growth
• Act as a technical leader and mentor within the Analytics Engineering discipline

Requirements

• Extensive experience in analytics engineering or data engineering
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL
• Experience using Python in data workflows
• Proven track record of designing scalable analytical data models
• Advanced hands-on experience with dbt, Looker, or Airflow
• Deep understanding of data modeling best practices and analytics architecture
• Exceptional communication skills to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in English (C1 level or above)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling data platforms in high-growth or post-Series C startups
• Experience defining and standardizing event taxonomies and KPIs
• Strong experience with AWS or Google Cloud data ecosystems
• Previous experience mentoring or coaching data professionals
