Staff AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build core AI architecture spanning multiple product areas
• Set technical standards for evaluation frameworks, testing philosophy, and CI/CD for model behavior
• Resolve systemic engineering gaps proactively across the Core AI team
• Own ambiguous technical problems end-to-end without established playbooks
• Build and ship conversational agents, deep learning models, and personalization systems
• Improve AI/ML services to drive behavior change and metabolic health outcomes
• Raise team technical level through code review and design review
• Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to turn goals into technical designs

Requirements

• 8+ years industry experience developing production AI/ML systems
• Deep software engineering fundamentals: testing, CI/CD, system design
• Experience setting org-level technical direction and engineering standards
• Production experience with LLMs, Generative AI, prompt engineering, RAG, and AI evals
• Track record mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical decisions
• Proficiency in Python and defining team best practices
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Voice AI or specialized Language Models (VLMs, multi-modal)
