Staff AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex ML/AI systems end-to-end
• Build and evolve scalable ML platforms, pipelines, and infrastructure
• Set the standard for AI-forward engineering using tools like Claude and Cursor
• Partner with product, engineering, and leadership to shape AI strategy
• Translate complex AI tradeoffs and risks into clear narratives for stakeholders
• Mentor and grow junior and mid-level engineers through coaching and code reviews
• Take ownership of high-stakes, ambiguous work to drive it through to production

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 4+ years focused on AI/ML systems in production
• Deep hands-on experience with generative AI development
• Expert software engineering background in Python or similar
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Agentic AI/ML, and Natural language querying
• Deep expertise with AWS services and GenAI offerings
• Proven track record designing and shipping complex agentic systems
• Mastery of AI frameworks and orchestration tools
• Experience with evaluation frameworks and observability tools for LLM apps
• Extensive experience building RAG pipelines (chunking, embeddings, vector databases)
• Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
• Expert knowledge of AI-forward coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor
