Staff AI Engineer - Design Automation

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents that automate multi-step semiconductor workflows
• Develop the Agent Platform including orchestration, tool integration, observability, and evaluation infrastructure
• Work with design and verification engineers to identify high-impact automation opportunities
• Create techniques for grounding agents in domain knowledge such as specifications and design rules
• Build rigorous evaluation frameworks to measure agent reliability, correctness, and safety
• Debug complex problems across the stack from model behavior to infrastructure

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of industry experience
• Experience in or familiarity with semiconductor or EDA (RTL design, verification, physical design, or EDA tool development)
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML including model training and evaluation
• Strong programming skills for building production-quality systems
• Systems thinking and ability to diagnose complex issues
• Clear communication skills to bridge technical domains

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in EE, CE, CS, or related field
• Deep expertise in semiconductor domains like verification methodologies, synthesis, timing closure, or DFT
• Deep expertise in AI/ML architectures, NLP, or reinforcement learning
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, or agentic systems
• Experience with EDA tool internals or automation scripting
• Publications or significant projects in semiconductor or AI/ML
