Staff Accountant, Royalties

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close processes including royalty accruals, estimates, and prepaid entries
• Prepare licensee partner royalty reporting and ensure compliance with license agreements
• Monitor license agreements to ensure financial contractual obligations are met
• Track licensee guarantees, excess royalty payments, and royalty shortfalls
• Assist with quarterly and annual external audit requests
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for Prepaid and Accrued Royalties
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with SOX processes
• Research and respond to license partner inquiries with professionalism

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in royalty accounting
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
• Experience handling annual audits
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in Coppell, TX

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle ERP
• Experience in music, consumer products, or publishing industries
