Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, including preparing journal entries and performing monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and the preparation of financial statements
• Track, value, and analyze inventory and associated costs to support profitability analysis
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure healthy cash flow
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Conduct financial analysis, such as budget vs. actual variance analysis, to identify trends
• Manage fixed assets and calculate depreciation schedules
• Assist with tax filing preparations, including sales tax and 1099s

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or food processing
• Experience with large payroll processing systems such as ISolved, ADP, or Paychex
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
