Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Track, value, and analyze inventory and associated costs
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
• Assist with tax filing preparations such as sales tax and 1099s
• Conduct budget vs. actual variance analysis
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of professional accounting experience
• Experience with large payroll processing systems (e.g., ISolved, ADP, Paychex)
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Solid understanding of GAAP

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry
• Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, or NetSuite
