Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Track the compilation of costs into fixed asset accounts related to IT projects
• Act as the subject matter expert on IT costs regarding capital vs expense guidance
• Perform data entry to record capital expenditures, including setting up and retiring assets
• Roll-forward cost and accumulated depreciation accounts
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger
• Book accrual journal entries during month-end close
• Review P&L transactions and prepare corrective entries
• Assist field operations with store P&L questions
• Work with internal and external auditors to provide documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
• Fixed Asset Accounting experience
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP regarding asset capitalization
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience with multi-unit business accounting

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous PeopleSoft experience
