Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage cost accounting functions and assist with inventory valuation by reconciling subledgers to the general ledger
• Analyze product costs, manufacturing variances, and the cost of goods sold
• Prepare monthly journal entries for accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments
• Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable staff
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain robust internal controls
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to support business initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting cycle processes
• Understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
• Experience with ERP and accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or progress toward certification
• Two or more years of accounting experience
• Manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
• ASC 606 revenue recognition knowledge
• Process improvement and internal controls experience
