About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental research on lakes, rivers, and wetlands focusing on ecological stressors like climate change and pollution
- Provide technical expertise in areas such as aquatic ecology, limnology, hydrology, GIS, or environmental geochemistry
- Coordinate research activities with external partners and prepare technical reports for funding agencies
- Write and contribute to scientific papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals
- Build partnerships through participation in scientific societies, workshops, and conferences
- Provide expertise for museum outreach efforts and assist in planning research-related events
- Supervise and mentor research staff, interns, and volunteers
Requirements
- PhD in environmental sciences (e.g., ecology, geology, biology, civil engineering, or related fields)
- Proven track record of scientific publication and technical report writing
- Experience conducting research that translates to environmental applications
- Proficiency in standard office and data analysis software relevant to the field
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment
