SRE Lead

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical eCommerce microservices.
• Design and maintain observability platforms including metrics, logs, traces, and real-time telemetry.
• Reduce operational toil by converting repetitive tasks into automated solutions and actionable Jira stories.
• Design and validate resiliency mechanisms such as automated failover, redundancy, and disaster recovery.
• Lead incident response, act as an escalation point for high-severity incidents, and drive blameless postmortems.
• Partner with scrum teams to improve reliability through release readiness reviews and production change validation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior SREs and engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in SRE, software engineering, or production operations for large-scale platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE-based distributed systems.
• Experience deploying and operating services on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in NoSQL and RDBMS, including the ability to write complex queries.
• Expertise with observability and APM tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or ELK.
• Proven experience with incident response and participating in on-call rotations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building microservices using Spring Boot, Groovy, or React.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and progressive delivery.
• Experience in the eCommerce domain (Catalog, Customer Data, or Order Management).
• Familiarity with search platforms like Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Exposure to chaos engineering, load testing, and capacity planning.
