SRE Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a world-class SRE engineering team, providing technical guidance and contributing to platform and application code.
• Drive automation for data platforms and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enhance productivity and cost optimization.
• Lead incident response efforts, participate in on-call rotations, and serve as the primary escalation point for complex production issues.
• Conduct deep-dive root cause investigations and implement actionable postmortems to prevent issue recurrence.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy fixes, and enhance overall system reliability.
• Establish and maintain production readiness standards, including application security, disaster recovery, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in the SRE domain.
• At least 3 years of experience in a management role focused on hiring, developing, and building engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in programming with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proven ability to lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and drive system reliability improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise data systems on distributed architectures.
• Expertise in cloud-native services, ETL frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink), and messaging systems (Kafka).
• Experience with modern distributed databases such as Snowflake, Cassandra, SingleStore, or SAP HANA.
• Exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau, Business Objects, or ThoughtSpot.
• Experience using GenAI or automation tools for issue detection, alerting, or remediation.
