About the role
Responsibilities
- Design magnetic components for power distribution products, including transformers, chokes, inductors, and current transformers
- Manage the design process from initial conception through to full-scale production
- Support manufacturing facilities by developing advanced fabrication and testing techniques for magnetic components
- Test prototype components to ensure full compliance with technical specifications
- Perform root cause analysis on magnetic component failures and implement corrective actions
- Review and recommend new materials, designs, and manufacturing technologies
- Provide technical leadership and design assistance to global engineering teams and manufacturing centers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power or magnetics
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience
- In-depth knowledge of the theory and practical application of magnetic component design
- Proficiency with electromechanical simulation and design tools such as OSP, Ansoft, or similar
- Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Thorough understanding of agency and compliance requirements, specifically UL standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate on a global scale
