About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers, providing technical direction across the full development lifecycle
  • Own engineering execution for scope, schedule, and cost, including project planning and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Ensure disciplined use of development processes and adherence to avionics certification standards
  • Lead and provide technical guidance for proposal and capture activities
  • Manage hiring, staffing decisions, performance management, and career development for the engineering team
  • Partner with leadership to execute departmental and strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • STEM degree and minimum 10 years of relevant experience (or Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience)
  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role
  • Experience with complex system-of-systems from architectural and maintenance perspectives
  • Proficiency with requirements databases (DOORS, JAMA) and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with Linux, C/C++, and Python
  • Advanced expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and tools
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government DoD Secret Security Clearance required on day 1
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active or current Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and inform technology roadmaps
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to maintain composure in dynamic environments
