About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for systems engineering and system-level integration support for the Space Launch System (SLS) program's interfaces.
- Control the integrated system architecture through appropriate controlling documents and deliverables.
- Perform technical integration across multiple NASA Centers and diverse engineering disciplines including propulsion, structures, avionics, and flight software.
- Develop strategic plans and negotiate resolution of open requirement and design issues to ensure closure of TBDs and TBRs.
- Lead integration activities between SLS, EGS, Element, and Prime Contractor teams.
- Provide technical leadership and support for the development of key system engineering products for program milestones.
- Assist in technical evaluations of verification closure data and rationale.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (or related field).
- 13+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, integration, requirements management, and system architecture definition.
- Demonstrated experience working across organizational boundaries to resolve vehicle/propulsion systems integration issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Working knowledge of digital engineering tools such as DNG, MagicDraw, or Power BI.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and relational database management.
- Familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering policies and procedures related to verification.
- Experience developing verification strategies and facilitating verification compliance activities.
- Knowledge of launch vehicle programmatic planning processes and oversight of prime contractor hardware production.
