Sr. Systems Engineer (Endpoint Detection & Response)

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle engineering and scale-out architecture of MDE and Trellix HX across hybrid environments
• Author complex system engineering and implementation plans
• Tune agent configurations and exclusion policies to eliminate mission friction
• Monitor overall endpoint health at scale
• Translate threat intelligence into custom technical indicators of compromise (IOCs) using KQL and YARA
• Act as primary technical advisor to Government stakeholders on system risks
• Provide advanced forensic support to the SOC during high-priority incidents
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineering personnel

Requirements

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph
• 20 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in similar programs
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or 5 years additional SE experience)
• Expertise in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) architecture and deployment
• Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL)
• Experience with Trellix HX (formerly FireEye) controllers and agents
• Experience creating OpenIOC and YARA rules
• In-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS internals
• DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II or III baseline certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
• Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
• Trellix Certified Engineering credentials
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
• Proficiency with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
• Familiarity with NSA Technical Manual Standards
