Sr. Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure backend products for a global financial data ecosystem
• Define technology roadmaps and engineering standards, driving adoption across the organization
• Design and implement robust API services to support a rapidly growing European customer base
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams to foster a high-performing culture
• Identify and propose solutions for technical debt and structural or organizational blockers
• Research and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to ensure innovation
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives

Requirements

• Extensive experience in professional backend software development
• Deep expertise in software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle
• Proven ability to design and influence the architecture of complex, distributed systems at scale
• Strong understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and AWS
• Demonstrable knowledge of using AI in a professional engineering environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring senior peers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Interest or previous experience in the financial industry or wealth management
