Sr Staff Engineer, Data Management (DEA)

Responsibilities

• Define and govern the end-to-end architecture of data systems powering preclinical science and operations.
• Architect domain-driven data models, curated datasets, and integration patterns across data lakes and lab systems.
• Design streaming and batch data flow (ETL/ELT) patterns in partnership with IT and data engineering teams.
• Establish data management standards including data quality, lineage, metadata, and data cataloging.
• Model experiment workflows and ensure scalable lab platform integration with LIMS/ELN systems.
• Act as a product manager and program lead using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to define roadmaps and delivery mechanisms.
• Enable self-service analytics by publishing governed, analysis-ready semantic layers for tools like Spotfire and Tableau.

Requirements

• Ph.D. with 6+ years of experience or Master's with 12+ years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Mandatory experience with LIMS/ELN systems such as Benchling or LabWare.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or engineering within a scientific or manufacturing context.
• Expertise in cloud data platforms including AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Expertise in NoSQL, Graph, and relational databases.
• Proven experience delivering governed datasets for visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Working knowledge of Scaled Agile (SAFe) frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in preclinical or bioprocess domains (samples, assays, batches, equipment, methods).
• Experience with Lab Systems specifically for bioprocessing.
• Experience aligning data standards across R&D, QA, and Manufacturing to ensure data integrity and traceability.
