Sr Staff Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Set technical vision and strategy for data representations and tokenization strategies across biological data types
• Develop, deploy and validate approaches for combining heterogeneous data modalities into unified training frameworks
• Evaluate model performance and identify biological signals captured or lost
• Partner with ML engineers and AI researchers to co-design datasets and optimize model training
• Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning data engineering, infrastructure, science, and product
• Identify and drive new data acquisition and generation opportunities
• Serve as a technical mentor and leader to raise organizational rigor

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience or PhD + 7 years working with large-scale biological datasets
• Deep expertise in imaging data (microscopy, cell phenotyping, spatial biology) or genomics data (single-cell sequencing, multi-omics)
• Experience transforming raw biological data into AI-ready datasets
• Experience with tokenization strategies for non-text data (images, sequences, graphs, time series)
• Strong expertise in data science, statistical modeling, and modern ML architectures
• Strong computational skills and ability to design robust data architectures
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
