About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ML solutions development, including data ingestion, feature engineering, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Architect highly available, secure, and scalable cloud/on-prem hybrid ML infrastructure.
- Act as the technical bridge between algorithm science and engineering to translate innovative concepts into production-ready software.
- Implement robust CI/CD workflows for ML models, including testing, rollout, rollback strategies, and compliance governance.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and privacy standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) guidelines.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, including large language models (LLMs), multimodal machine learning, and advanced hardware accelerators.
- Mentor ML engineers and data scientists while establishing coding standards and conducting architectural reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience (or 7+ years with a Master's, or 2+ years with a PhD).
- Proven experience building and deploying Machine Learning solutions and hands-on proficiency in Python.
- Experience with AI/ML cognitive services, model productionization, and CI/CD automation.
- Proficiency in NLP/NLG, Generative AI, and AI Conversational Agents.
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure Databricks.
- Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, including feature analysis, algorithm selection, and hyperparameter tuning.
- Experience with senior executive and leadership engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
- Experience in the medical device industry or working within an FDA-regulated business.
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Background in signal processing, computer vision, or multimodal learning.
- Experience with FDA 510(k) submissions and clinical-grade ML product development.
