Sr. Specialist, Mechanical Engineering (Design)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design of detailed parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct research and develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production.
• Utilize three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools to accomplish complex design tasks.
• Apply engineering design and analytical theory, including structural analysis, to integrated system designs.
• Work across various aircraft platforms and systems in an aircraft hangar or flight line environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 6 years of aerospace mechanical design experience, OR
• Graduate degree with 4 years of aerospace mechanical design experience, OR
• 10 years of aerospace mechanical design experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with CAD tools (NX/Unigraphics preferred, ProE, or Catia).
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Familiarity with aircraft structural repairs, STCs, or general modifications.
• Strong understanding of basic aircraft systems.
