Sr. Software Engineer II - Java, AVP

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug medium to large software enhancements within Charles River’s business and technical domains
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to translate complex business requirements into sustainable software
• Provide thought leadership in product architecture design and offer guidance during code reviews
• Develop and implement software using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related languages
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure high-quality end products and assist in improving test methodologies
• Actively participate in the Agile Scrum process, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to written design and API documentation

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience
• 4 to 7 years of experience in financial services (Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, etc.) is strongly desired
• Authoritative experience with object-oriented programming and relational databases (RDBMS)
• 5+ years of experience working with Agile development methodologies
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MS) in a technical field
