Sr Software Engineer - Controls

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test control systems and ECU logic for heavy mining and construction machinery.
• Develop PLC logic based on IEC 61131-3 and interface with HMI using CODESYS-based controllers.
• Utilize Structured Text (ST) and object-oriented programming techniques for system development.
• Integrate sensor and actuator interfaces using IO knowledge (PWM, ADC, DAC, Digital IO).
• Perform model-based development and simulation using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols including CAN, CANopen, and J1939.
• Conduct thorough testing, validation, and debugging to ensure system reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and participate in design reviews.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for designs, specifications, test cases, and results.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience in the development of ECU automation systems.
• Proficiency in CODESYS 3.5 and CODESYS Structured Text Programming.
• Deep knowledge of PLC programming (STL, Ladder, FBD, etc.) using IEC 61131 standards.
• Hands-on experience with heavy machinery automation, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and motor control systems.
• Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, CANopen, and J1939.
• Proficiency in model-based development and simulation using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex system troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
