Sr Site Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a global network platform spanning physical datacenters and multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud.
• Support thousands of hosts worldwide, engineering reliable solutions to petabyte-scale data challenges.
• Own troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues to uphold high availability and performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and postmortems to drive operational excellence.
• Eliminate toil by building automation tools and improving daily engineering workflows.
• Participate in a global, follow-the-sun on-call rotation to ensure network integrity.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of hands-on network automation and operational experience supporting large-scale production infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in TCP/IP, the OSI model, and large-scale IP networking protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking technologies (e.g., Cilium, Calico) and Container Network Interfaces (CNIs).
• Proficiency in creating automation and building tools using Python or Go.
• Experience managing software load balancers like NGINX, Envoy, or HAProxy in large-scale environments.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps/SRE principles.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience running Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal.
• Knowledge of IPv6 configuration, transition strategies, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
• Experience operating network devices using SONiC, Cisco IOS, JunOS, Arista EOS, or Nokia SR Linux.
• Background in platform engineering and building infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience integrating AI tools and LLMs into engineering processes to improve development velocity.
