Sr. Scientist/APS, Data Compliance & Governance Management

Responsibilities

• Design and own the intake process for cross-border data sharing requests, including workflow and prioritization
• Perform first-pass triage for China-related or non-standard data requests to ensure compliance
• Lead provenance tracing for legacy datasets by reviewing records and source history
• Coordinate metadata collection and annotation to support transfer assessment and usability
• Curate and annotate scientific data assets such as structure data in GDB
• Prepare structured evidence packages for Data Owners and Stewards to facilitate decision-making
• Manage DOJ compliance assessments for CRO ordering against EO 14117 thresholds
• Partner with R&D Data Office, Privacy, and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment

Requirements

• BSc/MSc or equivalent advanced training in life sciences, bioinformatics, data science, or information management
• 4+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech R&D data environments
• Experience in scientific data management, data stewardship, or data governance
• Practical experience with cross-border data sharing and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with structural biology/chemistry data and molecular data formats
• Ability to work across biologics, small molecules, clinical, and omics data contexts
• Strong analytical rigor and documentation discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field
• Direct experience operationalizing DOJ EO 14117 or similar national security data frameworks
• Familiarity with China's DSL data classification framework
• Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies like pseudonymization or federated learning
• Experience in China-facing R&D operations
