Sr Scientist

Responsibilities

• Provide technical quality support to Quality Assurance, Operations, and Product Development with an emphasis on continuous improvement and product quality.
• Lead plant compliance to the SQF standard and serve as the plant SQF Practitioner.
• Serve as the plant Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and manage Food Safety Plans (FSP) and pre-requisite programs.
• Manage and develop plant Quality and Food Safety Scientists.
• Develop and execute Quality and Food Safety training plans to meet internal, regulatory, and SQF requirements.
• Act as the primary back-up for the Plant Quality and Food Safety Manager.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of food product experience, preferably as a QA Scientist or Quality Supervisor.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Proficiency with Continuous Improvement (CI) problem-solving tools.
• Strong ability to compile, analyze, and present technical and scientific data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and facilitating meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• PCQI Certification.

• SQF Certification.
