About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisor to clients by formulating investment strategies and assisting in raising capital in the capital markets
- Serve as the primary contact for routine credit requests, documentation negotiation, and problem resolution for client networks
- Assist with relationship reviews and the timely completion of Know Your Client (KYC) requirements across all products
- Interact with client treasury personnel to support transactional banking issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Facilitate credit originations, including allocation, approvals, documentation, and fee collections for Standby Letters of Credit
- Negotiate language for standardized FX/Derivative transactions, LCs, or working capital loans
- Identify revenue opportunities and monitor client billing, service queries, and product positioning
- Represent the banking coverage team in client meetings and take initiative in the absence of the banker
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience in corporate banking or a related financial field
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated credit skills, including expertise in financial accounting, commercial lending, and loan structuring
- Comprehensive knowledge of documentation requirements such as ISDA/CSA, LCs, parent guarantees, and short-term loan agreements
- Proven analytical aptitude and the ability to extract critical information from financial statements and filings
- Strong ability to adapt communication styles to coordinate effectively with diverse client portfolios
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Citi-specific applications and tools (e.g., ICG Toolbox and AMC)
- Deep understanding of treasury models, funding models, and cash management strategies
