Sr. Regulatory Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the regulatory compliance strategy for commercial oven product lines, ensuring alignment with global safety, sanitation, emissions, and energy-efficiency requirements
• Lead certification programs with agencies such as UL, Intertek, CSA, NSF, and TÜV
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on UL 197, UL 710, NSF/ANSI standards, and relevant mechanical, electrical, and fire codes
• Guide product development teams by providing early-stage design input, risk assessments, and compliance-driven recommendations
• Develop and maintain regulatory roadmaps to anticipate future code changes
• Lead investigations into compliance failures or audit findings using root-cause analysis
• Oversee internal and external testing to ensure documentation meets certification expectations
• Mentor junior engineers on code interpretation and certification processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in regulatory engineering, product compliance, or certification for commercial appliances or industrial equipment
• Deep expertise with UL, NSF, ANSI, CSA, IEC, and CE standards
• Proven experience working directly with certification agencies like UL, Intertek, or CSA
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, thermal systems, gas systems, or combustion technologies
• Ability to interpret complex codes and translate them into actionable engineering requirements
