Sr Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end automation suites spanning web UI, APIs, and distributed backend services
• Utilize test frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress to improve coverage and maintainability
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD processes, including pre-merge validation and post-merge execution
• Improve test signal quality by reducing flakes and nondeterminism while optimizing runtime
• Investigate failures across services and infrastructure to perform root-cause analysis
• Partner with Software Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to define quality gates and automation standards
• Advise development teams on best practices for testing techniques and processes throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining automated tests for web applications and distributed systems
• Proficiency with end-to-end and API test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress)
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems using Git-based workflows
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across services, logs, and environments
• Excellent communication skills for documentation and collaboration within Agile teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing cloud-native and microservices architectures (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as Prometheus or Grafana
• Experience with contract testing, service virtualization, or integration test strategies
• Knowledge of performance, load, resiliency, or security testing
• Practical experience with back-end programming languages like Java, Python, Go, or Rust
