Sr. Quality and Food Safety Area Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide functional leadership to develop, implement, and improve Quality and Food Safety Management programs
• Act as backup to the Quality and Food Safety Manager and provide technical expertise during incident investigations
• Lead implementation of Global Quality and Food Safety Standards to ensure regulatory compliance
• Lead site quality and food safety management review processes
• Develop and roll out food safety training including HACCP and Basic Food Safety
• Provide governance to microbiological verification, environmental, allergen, and sanitation programs
• Manage validation of CCP/OPRP preventive controls and lead root cause analysis for food safety incidents
• Lead Q&FS input for engineering projects, including commissioning and validation processes
• Coach and develop associates within the Q&FS team

Requirements

• BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3 years of food manufacturing experience in a food safety or quality management role
• Demonstrated success with HACCP, food safety risk management, and prerequisite controls
• Proficiency in quality tools, food science, and statistical analysis
• Understanding of GMP, GLP, food allergens, pest control, and sanitation regulations
• Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, or Engineering
• 2+ years of additional food plant experience in a leadership capacity
• Experience as an auditor in GFSI Quality Systems such as SQF, BRC, FSSC22000, or ISO9000
