Sr. Pyrometallurgical Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead pyrometallurgical process scopes from early concept development through procurement, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up
• Develop detailed heat and material balances for high-temperature process trains including drying, calcination, smelting, and refining
• Design and validate thermal process flowsheets and PFDs/P&IDs for pyrometallurgical circuits
• Build first-principles thermodynamic and kinetic models for high-temperature reactors and furnaces
• Model and optimize phase equilibria, slag chemistry, metal recovery, and energy efficiency
• Define specifications for high-temperature process equipment, burners, power systems, and refractory linings
• Collaborate with R&D and pilot-plant engineers to translate findings into commercial designs
• Partner with software and machine-learning teams to develop digital-twin models and automated workflows

Requirements

• Strong foundation in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, or process engineering
• Experience with equipment engineering and design for brownfield or greenfield projects
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing pyrometallurgical or chemical-process equipment
• Background in pyrometallurgical mineral processing, metal refining, or large-scale mining
• Experience in industrial chemical manufacturing or working with EPC/EPCM firms
