Sr. Project Engineer - Electrical Design

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for mining machines, including control panels, cable harnesses, and LV panels.
• Oversee the creation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Integrate electrical systems with cabins, operator panels, engine controls, lights, and hydraulic systems.
• Develop system architecture, including PLC I/O signal lists and CAN bus layouts.
• Select and size electrical components such as circuit breakers, fuses, and relays.
• Manage high voltage (800Vdc) component integration, including inverters and DC-DC converters.
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards, including EMC, vehicle safety, and functional safety.
• Prepare project documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Coordinate with global R&D teams and perform design calculations.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a reputed institute.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Teamcenter (PLM), and Creo.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical power and control systems for mobile machinery.
• Experience with HV/LV systems, 800Vdc components, and diesel or battery electric vehicle controls.
• Knowledge of CAN bus, PLC I/O, and electrical protection systems.
• Understanding of relevant ISO and EN60204 standards.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and drive trains.
