Sr Project Engineer, Battery Development

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction for multiple low-to-moderate complexity battery development projects.
• Manage project lifecycles to ensure successful and timely implementation within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
• Drive product design to meet market requirements, including cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams through problem-solving, technical tradeoff discussions, and risk reduction planning.
• Coordinate with Operations, Quality, and international suppliers to ensure the delivery of conforming products.
• Conduct design and safety reviews to facilitate product development phase progressions.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and specifications to validate design extremes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proven experience managing low-to-moderate complexity engineering projects or subsystems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and tolerance analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, specifically Microsoft Project.
• Ability to travel internationally (10-15%).

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical project experience is a significant plus.
• Broad knowledge of engineering materials used in power tools and associated manufacturing processes.
