Sr. Program Manager, Research Partnerships

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of research collaborations with biotech, pharma, academic institutions, and non-profits.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming research partnership requests and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Partner with Corporate Development to inform deal structures and ensure operational viability.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of contracted partnerships, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Scientists, Engineers, Legal, and Product teams.
• Manage vendor relationships, including SOW review and budget oversight.
• Develop and maintain scalable intake and scoping processes for partnership inquiries.
• Mentor junior Program Managers and drive continuous process improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of program or project management experience, specifically within research, biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
• Bachelor's degree in biomedical science or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of human genetics concepts such as GWAS, SNPs, and WGS.
• Proven experience with SOW and contract development in collaboration with Legal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder research partnerships from inquiry through delivery.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members with an interest in people management.
• Familiarity with Trusted Research Environments (TREs), data access frameworks, or data licensing models.
• Experience with B2B marketing, partner enablement, or commercial strategy in a research context.
• Proficiency with project management tools like Jira or Asana.
