Sr Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) development for LG HVAC products
• Work cross-functionally with sales, manufacturing, and program managers to ensure timely product launches
• Evaluate go-to-market strategies and review technical documents for the North American market
• Apply sound engineering principles to product design and benchmark against competitors
• Provide engineering insights and improvement solutions for new product development
• Screen and analyze new product performance and provide technical recommendations
• Statistically evaluate and interpret product data from lab and field-based testing
• Review design shortcomings to pinpoint weaknesses and identify improvement points
• Assist in the preparation of service, installation, and engineering manuals for US commercialization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, water heating, or unitary products
• Working knowledge of vapor compression and heat transfer principles
• Experience in the design and development of evaporators, condensing units, or heat exchangers
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and interpreting drawings using GD&T
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VRF, A-coil, AHU, FCU, or Chiller systems
• Exposure to various manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability (DFM)
• Experience with agency certifications such as CSA, UL, or DOE
• Ability to multi-task and operate independently in a dynamic environment
