About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and scaling of physical automation hardware and industrial systems across global manufacturing environments.
- Act as a senior technical leader and global subject matter expert on automation systems and manufacturing technology.
- Create and own global specification templates for the procurement of automation equipment to ensure "plug and play" functionality.
- Manage direct ownership of equipment design, installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Identify strategic vendors and collaborate with procurement to drive efficiencies in core manufacturing technologies.
- Standardize automation equipment, control panels, and field devices across diverse manufacturing sites.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls-hardware issues on the factory floor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.
- 7 years of relevant experience in industrial automation engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial automation hardware, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, and vision systems.
- Proven experience with factory-floor implementations, equipment commissioning, and line startups.
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, with up to 10% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, controls, automation, or systems engineering.
- Experience working within a GxP environment (medical device or pharmaceutical).
- Expertise in integrating PLCs (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff) and SCADA systems (Ignition) into enterprise data systems like MES or ERP.
- Experience designing, building, and decommissioning manufacturing automation systems.
