Sr Principal Engineer - HSE Global Facilities Delivery

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of major capital projects in Lehigh Valley, PA, specifically for a new manufacturing site.
• Manage and support the Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP).
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for department HSE documents, standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Coach project teams on hazard recognition, risk assessment, and safe work permitting (LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, etc.).
• Conduct HSE field execution inspections against regulatory, corporate, and GFD standards.
• Lead and support investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for unplanned or adverse incidents.
• Transition to a site HSE operations role upon completion of construction and commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience, including at least 5 years of experience delivering capital projects.
• Deep knowledge of 29 CFR 1926 (construction) and OSHA regulations.
• Direct experience managing contractor safety programs and permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
• Physical capability to navigate construction environments, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in greenfield, major capital project delivery, or startup environments.
• Familiarity with process safety program integration (MOC, energy isolation, SIMOPS).
• OSHA 30 Hour for Construction training.
• Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish).
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and project managers without direct authority.
