Sr Principal Engineer - HSE Global Facilities Delivery

Responsibilities

• Support the management of the Contractor Safety Management Program (CSMP) for a new manufacturing site in Richmond, VA
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for department HSE documents, standards, and environmental permits
• Coach project teams on compliance, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and safety processes (LOTO, Confined Space, etc.)
• Conduct HSE project field execution inspections against regulatory, corporate, and GFD HSE standards
• Lead and support investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for unplanned or adverse incidents
• Develop and analyze leading and lagging safety indicators for the project
• Transition to a site HSE operations role upon completion of construction and commissioning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 5 years of HSE experience
• At least 5 years of experience delivering capital projects
• Deep experience with 29 CFR 1926 construction regulations
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting contractor safety management programs or permit-to-work (PTW) systems
• Experience with OSHA regulations and risk management practices
• Proven ability to influence Project Managers and Contractors without direct authority
• Experience in greenfield, major capital project delivery, or startup environments
• OSHA 30 Hour for Construction training
