Sr Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the software architecture and system design of highly scalable, distributed, and data-intensive microservices
• Partner with product teams and leadership to define and execute the strategic technical roadmap
• Align technical direction with business needs, balancing short-term opportunities with long-term vision
• Champion industry best practices to elevate development standards across the organization
• Hire, mentor, and build high-performing engineering teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 15+ years of experience in complex system design and hands-on development using Java and AWS
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience within large, distributed organizations
• Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, including scalability, performance, reliability, security, and consistency
• Proven experience building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with an API-first mindset
• Expertise in modern technology stacks, microservices, stream processing, and designing for operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Information Retrieval using Lucene, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch
• Exposure to Vector Databases and ML Infrastructure
• Experience with Knowledge Graphs or Graph Databases
• Expertise in managing security and compliance challenges in cloud-based platforms
• Experience monitoring and improving the reliability of complex systems at scale
