Sr Principal Architect, Payment Network Technology

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve next-generation global payment network solutions that are secure, scalable, and resilient.
• Advise on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a diverse portfolio.
• Lead the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis and strategic solution delivery.
• Translate complex technical trends and issues into actionable insights for executive leadership.
• Establish and lead architecture governance bodies and implement technical methods that improve software velocity and quality.
• Set architectural direction for mission-critical systems and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 12+ years of applied architecture experience with formal training or certification in architecture concepts.
• Deep expertise in payment network processes, including authorizations, tokenization, clearing, settlement, and fraud management.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, security, and data management.
• Proven experience in system design, application development, and maintaining operational stability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the safe adoption of AI-enabled architectural patterns and agentic workflows.
• Strong understanding of global payment regulations, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams within a global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12+ years of specific experience in payment network architecture.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems within the payments industry.
