About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic materials failure analysis and component evaluation for devices ranging from passive components to complex microcircuits.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using laboratory equipment including digital photo-documentation, electrical test equipment, Sono-scan, and SEM-EDS.
  • Manage the full analysis lifecycle, including initial evaluation, photo-documentation, electrical testing, and destructive testing.
  • Write comprehensive final reports that substantiate failure conclusions and present findings clearly.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electrical component materials such as ceramics, glasses, metal wire bonding, conformal coating, and solder.

Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (or an Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience).
  • Proven experience in electronic component failure analysis.
  • Experience analyzing microcircuits and both active and passive electrical components.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (Secret) is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science.
  • Knowledge of Government Component Documents and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD, MIL-PRF, MIL-HDBK).
  • Experience testing RF devices and interconnects.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as DMM, Curve Tracers, and Parametric Analyzers.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform circuit analysis.
  • Strong data collection and technical writing skills.
