Sr Packaging Designer

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of breakthrough brand visual identities for new Mattel Venture toy packaging from concept through production
• Build brand guidelines, styleguides, visual toolkits, and design systems including typography, color, and graphic language
• Partner on packaging strategy and concept development to ensure work is strategically grounded and visually distinctive
• Translate business strategy into clear creative narratives and high-quality presentations for executive stakeholders
• Use AI tools effectively to accelerate ideation, mood development, and creative workflow efficiency
• Direct internal designers and external partners, including illustrators, photographers, and vendors, to maintain a high creative bar
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product design, marketing, and engineering to ensure scalable execution

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in packaging design, graphic design, or related roles
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional taste, visual sophistication, and the ability to create design systems from the ground up
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern design workflows
• Demonstrated familiarity with AI-enabled creative tools and workflows
• Experience managing external partners, freelance specialists, and global production partners
• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience launching new brands, sub-brands, or franchise extensions
• Background in toys, entertainment, licensed IP, or consumer products
• Experience developing omnichannel brand assets for retail, e-commerce, and social media
• Familiarity with 3D visualization, rendering, and prototyping tools
