About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review documentation including airline bills, motor carrier bills of lading (BOL), and export/import declarations.
- Route shipments via optimal modes of transport such as ground, air, or courier.
- Negotiate competitive rates and service agreements with motor carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers.
- Coordinate with customs brokers to provide documentation and expedite inbound shipment clearance.
- Support sales teams by preparing accurate freight quotes and providing shipping insights.
- Audit domestic freight invoices to identify discrepancies and manage disputes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and resolve shipment service failures.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight operations, logistics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of practical experience with motor carriers, freight forwarders, or express couriers.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency in TMS/ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
