About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Cancer Care Leadership to ensure high-quality, safe radiation oncology services and radiation safety compliance.
- Perform calibration of dose meters, radiation equipment, and beam data acquisition for treatment planning.
- Conduct individual treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and physics component reviews.
- Assist in acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines and major maintenance re-commissioning.
- Provide physics consultation to radiation oncology personnel and oncologists regarding patient care and treatment.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and organizational regulations for radiation safety.
- Participate in clinical education, training, and competency evaluations for medical physics, dosimetry, and therapy staff.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Medical Physics or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in addition to a CAMPEP-accredited residency.
- ABR certification in Radiation Oncology Physics or eligibility to achieve certification within 3 years of hire.
- Must apply for and maintain relevant State licensing and/or registration.
- Willingness to relocate to Merriville, IN or the surrounding area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with High Dose Rate (HDR) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) programs.
- Experience with TrueBeam, Gamma Knife, or SBRT programs.
- Computer system administration experience with patient record and verify database applications.
- Candidates who have passed Part-I and Part-II ABR exams.
