Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative mechanical design solutions from conceptualization to production.
• Manage design projects to meet deadlines and budgets, including the administration of deliverables for multiple tasks.
• Create and test prototypes to ensure feasibility and functionality.
• Perform GD&T and 2D/3D tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation using SAP, PDM, and PLM systems.
• Use tools like FMEA, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, and Six Sigma to optimize product quality and performance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster professional development within the team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design aspects and manage Engineering Change Requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering and product development.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Product and Manufacturing Information (PMI).
• Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with consumer cooking appliances or related products.
• Knowledge of plastics design and mold-in-place best practices.
• ASME / ISO GD&T certification or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with CAE simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
• Proven problem-solving skills using structured methods like 8D, Six Sigma, or DOE.
